Hi, I’m Jamie.
Strategist by trade, writer by habit, photographer by nature.
This site is my one-stop container to express what it is I get up to. From narrative and transformation consulting for leaders in change; and two newsletters unpacking everything from strategy and career to travel, arts and culture; to ongoing independent projects led by a curiosity for a multitude of things; and a growing archive of photography that captures moments that catch my attention.
I’ve always been wired to make sense of things; to chase meaning and connect the dots and go wherever my curiosity pulls me - whether mentally or physically. Scroll to explore my writing and photography or jump straight to the work I do.
Born in Canada, based in Scandinavia with visits to 50 countries and work on 4 continents.

Meaning Making
For someone who was given an ‘F’ on their Hamlet term paper in senior year of high school, I have made out “not too bad” as they say. Perhaps I was graded on potential at the time. While I’ve written for and on behalf of brands, businesses and leaders throughout my career; I have been self-publishing now for over 10 years.

Curiosity Leads the Way
Exploring the transformative power of narrative as the essential force that shapes business innovation, cultural evolution, personal conviction and resilience towards meaningful progress. By developing a thesis on how deliberately balancing direction, environment, and alignment creates enduring impact. I am inspired by and diving deep into the work of pioneering brands, visionary leadership, and influential thinkers across anthropology, architecture, technology, and culture.

Learning about Camp X, the covert WWII spy training school on the shores of Lake Ontario; where David Ogilvy, Ian Fleming, and Roald Dahl converged under wartime secrecy. I am now researching the work of these authors and the camp itself to learn about how contemporary business, advertising, entertainment and literature have been shaped by this context.

Places by J.Me
Ever since I was a child I was obsessed by place. I don’t know what my philosophy or approach to photography is as I have never thought of myself as a photographer until recently. I was always just in my mind, someone who took photos. It wasn’t until recently that a newsletter subscriber shared with me that they usually skip through whatever it is I write each month in anticipation of getting to the photos. Learning that the moments that I capture just because they resonated with me at the time create value for others was a wonderful shift to experience.
